This is not medical advice, if you have specific questions research CBD Hemp at Project CBD or ask someone knowledgeable you respect.   The human endocannabinoid system (ECS) is the largest in the human body, yes larger than the central nervous system. As such, it regulates a myriad of functions (cellular communication, metabolism, immune response, learning, emotional processing, memory and a ton more). It is the main system for overall balance and performance of your body.  A good analogy is to think of the human body as a mobile, not a stick figure, meaning there are a ton of interconnected parts which function together and separately which many effect one another. The stick figure model says if “this does this”, may have one chasing one symptom after another rather than a wholistic approach to keeping the mobil spinning but balanced.  It is my understanding there are many bodies we humans are dealing at the very least: the physical, mental, emotional, energetic and the imagination. Feeling is not only awareness of our physical body, but awareness of all our bodies. Our culture does not always support awareness of the subtle bodies or acknowledge the role of intuition. It is currently propagating the materialist view point. We are extremely complex beings and the interactions which happen are not completely understood despite our modern medical utopia. All emotions are stored cellularly in the body and often due to our past experiences are not intune with all our experiences. Maybe, we did not have time to process something. We often run through our day on autopilot, habituated to the way we are or our ‘state of being’. If we run a behavior long enough, this becomes biochemical wired. I think it is easy to acknowledge the Pavlov dog experiment, but we are Pavlov’s dog. Fight or flight response, cortisol, stress (EMF), these are where we are in modern society. We are not aware or unconscious to what is happening now for us. We are preoccupied w/ work, kids, school, social setting etc. Hemp (high CBD/low THC) is the remedy, the pattern interrupt for our modern day situation.  I do not know if it is the reduction of cortisol, extended reduced inflammation, hemp restored balance to the human body. Extended periods of time on hemp CBD (high CBD/ low THC) have brought me (& others) into a higher state of balance through access to the present moment. The present moment of Now, which enables one to integrate past e-motions resulting in subtle changes to my thought process, while noticing enhanced functioning of my body. It only makes sense by the experience. The truth is experiencetial. Only in the present moment are we capable of making a new decision.  You can still function, feel and participate in our everyday world while feeding your Endocannabinoid system , lowering cortisol, increasing awareness of the subtle reminders our bodies are sending us on a daily, moment by moment basis. The effects may include reduction of pain, inflammation, depression, anxiety increased sleep etc.  Cannabis, the WHOLE PLANT, (trace amounts of THC, NOT the THC) is the connection back to Nature.

Well, let’s get the qualifiers out of the way. I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice. If you have any questions about changing your diet consult someone you trust. All mammals have an endo-cannabinoid system, the cannabis plant produces phytocannabinoids which may help balance your cannabinoid system. This antidotal information from the thousands of people we have interacted w/ respect to our products. The age-old question with cannabis dosing is “how much should I take?” The answer, unfortunately, is not so simple. It largely depends on your weight, as well as the reason you’re taking it (for pain, for anxiety, etc), do you drink alcohol, are you taking prescription medication. Start low and slow, and increase your dosage until you find the sweet spot for you. And remember, everyone is different! What works for your friend might not work for you. There are 2 basic levels of CBD intake – 20-40mg and 60-130mg. At the lower level, we typically see a reduction in inflammation after 7-10 days. At the higher level (40mg or more for 40 days or more), we see a reduction in blood sugar levels (A1C). Long-term dosing of CBD has many other benefits for the human body, including lower blood pressure and sometimes lower cholesterol. In my experience, people taking CBD long-term also tend to experience improved brain function. This is likely due to the exposure to terpenes and other compounds found in CBD. Healing is related to voltage in the cells (Dr Jerry Tennant Healing is Voltage: The Handbook, 3rd Edition 3rd Edition).  Extended periods of time with reduced inflammation may lead to improvement of cellular function or healing. What is Delta 8?     Delta 8 is only ONE of MANY cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. It occurs naturally in cannabis in small quantities and is one of around 10 tetrahydrocannabinol compounds. You may be familiar with Delta 9 THC (D9). D9 is the popular component in cannabis which is psychoactive, gets you high, causing euphoria, relaxation, pain relief and more.     Delta 8 is less psychoactive than D9 but does not occur a sufficient levels in the plant to be successfully extract and sold. Since CBD & THC are extremely close cousins chemically, it does not take a lot to change CBD to THC. It be legal Delta 8 must be derived from hemp.     The process:     The process by which most manufactures create Delta 8 is called a isomerization. Decarboxylation is a chemical reaction that removes a carboxyl group and releases carbon dioxide. Usually, decarboxylation refers to a reaction of carboxylic acids, removing a carbon atom from a carbon chain. The reverse process, which is the first chemical step in photosynthesis, is called carboxylation, the addition of CO2 to a compound. Enzymes that catalyze decarboxylations are called decarboxylases or, the more formal term, carboxy-lyases.” ~ Wikipedia Decarboxylation is the scientific term for a chemical reaction that will remove a carboxyl group and release carbon dioxide. Doing so converts inactive components in cannabis into active components.  Decarboxylation unlocks the effects many people are looking for. The latest study, published in January 2017 in the Journal of Natural Medicine by researchers at Hiroshima International University, adds further light to the subject. The researchers discovered a possible way that CBD-A inhibits the COX-2 enzyme in highly-aggressive breast cancer tumors. Their study focused on CBD-A’s inhibition of proto oncogene c-Fos, a common precursor to proteins involved in cancer metastasis. CBD-A along with THC-A have also been known for some time for its anti-inflammatory effects; in fact, this is a large part of what makes it a potential cancer-killer. A 2011 Swedish study evaluated six different cannabinoids—CBD-A and THC-A as well as THC, CBD, CBDA, CBG and CBGA – for their effects on inflammatory processes, including COX-2. One of Eckhart Tolle’s most significant, insightful concepts he terms the pain body.  “The pain-body is my term for the accumulation of old emotional pain that almost all people carry in their energy field.”  From a Science of Mind interview: You talk in your book about the pain-body, both personal and collective.  What do you mean by the pain-body? Tolle: I see it as a semi-autonomous psychic entity. It consists of negative emotions that were not faced, accepted, and then let go in the moment they arose. These negative emotions leave a residue of emotional pain, which is stored in the cells of the body. There is also a collective human pain-body containing the pain suffered by countless human beings throughout history. The pain-body has a dormant stage and an active stage. Periodically it becomes activated, and when it does, it seeks more suffering to feed on. If you are not absolutely present, it takes over your mind and feeds on negative thinking as well as negative experiences such as drama in relationships. This is how it has been perpetuating itself throughout human history. Another way of describing the pain-body is this: the addiction to unhappiness. Can you suggest a way to eliminate the pain-body? Tolle: Yes. We release it by cutting the link between the pain-body and our thought processes, so that we no longer feed the pain-body with our thinking. Every negative thought has a similar frequency to the pain-body and so feeds it. It cannot feed on positive thoughts. When the pain-body no longer runs the internal dialogue of our compulsive thinking, we become aware of it directly. We feel the emotion in our body, and so we bring awareness to it, the light of consciousness. The old emotion is then transmuted into consciousness in the same way that a fire transmutes everything into itself. So disidentification from the emotion and just being in the now moment is the way to stop the cycle of constantly recreating painful experiences. From “A New Earth” – Because of the human tendency to perpetuate old emotion, almost everyone carries in his or her energy field an accumulation of old emotional pain, which I call “the pain-body.” Any negative emotion that is not fully faced and seen for what it is in the moment it arises does not completely dissolve. It leaves behind a remnant of pain. Children in particular find strong negative emotions too overwhelming to cope with and tend to try not to feel them. In the absence of a fully conscious adult who guides them with love and compassionate understanding into facing the emotion directly, choosing not to feel it is indeed the only option for the child at that time. Unfortunately, that early defense mechanism usually remains in place when the child becomes an adult. The emotion still lives in him or her unrecognized and manifests indirectly, for example, as anxiety, anger, outbursts of violence, a mood, or even as physical illness. In some cases, it interferes with or sabotages every intimate relationship. Most psychotherapists have met patients who claimed initially to have had a totally happy childhood, and later the opposite turned out to be the case. Those may be the more extreme cases, but nobody can go through childhood without suffering emotional pain. Even if both of your parents were enlightened, you would still find yourself growing up in a largely unconscious world. The remnants of pain left behind by every strong negative emotion that is not fully faced, accepted, and then let go of join together to form an energy field that lives in the very cells of your body. It consists not just of childhood pain, but also painful emotions that were added to it later in adolescence and during your adult life, most of it created by the voice of the ego. It is the emotional pain that is your unavoidable companion when a false sense of self is the basis of your life. This energy field of old but still very-much-alive emotion that lives in almost every human being is the pain-body. The pain-body, however, is not just individual in nature. It also partakes of the pain suffered by countless humans throughout the history of humanity, which is a history of continuous tribal warfare, of enslavement, pillage, rape, torture, and other forms of violence. This pain still lives in the collective psyche of humanity and is being added to on a daily basis, as you can verify when you watch the news tonight or look at the drama in people’s relationships. The collective pain-body is probably encoded within every human’s DNA, although we haven’t discovered it there yet. Every newborn who comes into this world already carries an emotional pain-body. In some it is heavier, more dense than in others. Some babies are quite happy most of the time. Others seem to carry an enormous amount of unhappiness within them. It is true that some babies cry a great deal because they are not given enough love and attention, but others cry for no apparent reason, almost as if they were trying to make everyone around them as unhappy as they are—and often they succeed. They have come into this world with a heavy share of human pain. Other babies may cry frequently because they can sense the emanation of their mother’s and father’s negative emotion, and it causes them pain and also causes their pain-body to grow already by absorbing energy from the parents’ pain-bodies. Whatever the case may be, as the baby’s physical body grows, so does the pain-body. The pain-body is a semiautonomous energy-form that lives within most human beings, an entity made up of emotion. It has its own primitive intelligence, not unlike a cunning animal, and its intelligence is directed primarily at survival. Like all life-forms, it periodically needs to feed–to take in new energy–and the food it requires to replenish itself consists of energy that is compatible with its own, which is to say, energy that vibrates at a similar frequency. Any emotionally painful experience can be used as food by the pain-body. That’s why it thrives on negative thinking as well as drama in relationships. It may be shocking when you realize for the first time that there is something within you that periodically seeks emotional negativity, seeks unhappiness. you need even more awareness to see it in yourself than to recognize it in another person. Once the unhappiness has taken you over, not only do you not want an end to it, but you want to make others just as miserable as you are in order to feed on their negative reactions. In most people, the pain-body has a dormant and an active stage. When it is dormant, you easily forget that you carry a heavy dark cloud or a dormant volcano inside you, depending on the energy field of your particular pain-body. How long it remains dormant varies from person to person: A few weeks is the most common, but it can be a few days or months. In rare cases the pain-body can lie in hibernation for years before it gets triggered by some event. The pain-body awakens from its dormancy when it gets hungry, when it is time to replenish itself. Alternatively, it may get triggered by an event at any time. The pain-body that is ready to feed can use the most insignificant event as a trigger, something somebody says or does, or even a thought. If you live alone or there is nobody around at the time, the pain-body will feed on your thoughts. Suddenly, your thinking becomes deeply negative. You were most likely unaware that just prior to the influx of negative thinking a wave of emotion invaded your mind–as a dark and heavy mood, an anxiety or fiery anger. All thought is energy and the pain-body is now feeding on the energy of your thoughts. But it cannot feed on any thought. You don’t need to be particularly sensitive to notice that a positive thought has a totally different feeling-tone than a negative one. It is the same energy, but it vibrates at a different frequency. A happy, positive thought is indigestible to the pain-body. It can only feed on negative thoughts because only those thoughts are compatible with its own energy field. If there are other people around, preferably your partner or a close family member, the pain-body will attempt to provoke them–push their buttons, as the expression goes–so it can feed on the ensuing drama. Pain-bodies love intimate relationships and families because that is where they get most of their food. It is hard to resist another person’s pain-body that is determined to draw you into a reaction. Instinctively it knows your weakest, most vulnerable points. If it doesn’t succeed the first time, it will try again and again. It is raw emotion looking for more emotion. The other person’s pain-body wants to awaken yours so that both pain-bodies can mutually energize each other. Some people carry dense pain-bodies that are never completely dormant. They may be smiling and making polite conversation, but you do not need to be psychic to sense that seething ball of unhappy emotion in them just underneath the surface, waiting for the next event to react to, the next person to blame or confront, the next thing to be unhappy about. Their pain-bodies can never get enough, are always hungry. Sometimes people with such dense pain-bodies become activists fighting for a cause. The cause may indeed be worthy, and they are sometimes successful at first in getting things done; however, the negative energy that flows into what they say and do and their unconscious need for enemies and conflict tend to generate increasing opposition to their cause. Usually they also end up creating enemies within their own organization, because wherever they go, they find reasons for feeling bad, and so their pain-body continues to find exactly what it is looking for. There is a tendency in the news media in general, including television, to thrive on negative news. The popular tabloid press does not primarily sell news but negative emotion – food for the pain-body. The worse things get, the more excited the presenters become, and often the negative excitement is generated by the media itself.

Have you ever had sleepless nights, or even sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and can’t get back to sleep? CBD may be able to help. Anyone who’s ever suffered insomnia, knows how disruptive to mental function a poor night’s sleep can be. Chronic sleep issues have been implicated in mental health issues, major health problems like heart disease, diabetes, and impaired driving. Clearly, sleep is essential to good health; but as many as one-third of adults report that they don’t get enough sleep. As a result, they turn to remedies like CBD Oil to fix the problem. Some research shows that CBD can positively affect the sleep cycle. Research from 2014 looked at four patients with Parkinson’s disease. It found that CBD improved the symptoms of REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD), a disorder in which a person acts out their dreams. RBD is associated with poor sleep and nightmares. Researchers and regular users of CBD increasingly recognize the medicinal properties of CBD, especially for regulating hormones and balancing the endocannabinoid system (ECS). Cannabinoids like CBD, CBG and CBN work on us by imitating and producing proteins (lipid-based retrograde neurotransmitters)  our bodies produces naturally. Because of this similarity, it can interact with a network of receptors known as the endocannabinoid system. From brain cells to immune cells, this regulates a huge variety of processes in the body. And when it comes to sleep issues, there are a few mechanisms by which CBD could help. First, CBD may be able to help us deal with some of the underlying issues that cause sleepless nights. By reducing pain and inflammation, or dialing down our anxiety, CBD may help to eliminate obstacles to getting the rest we need.   Additionally, CBD is thought to impact sleep by influencing the levels of serotonin and glutamate in the body. Scientists believe that these neurotransmitters play a significant role in sleep, so CBD’s effectiveness may be the result of bringing these levels into balance. Much research still needs to be done but CBD has already been shown to not only fight certain complaints but also help prevent them. However, at this stage it is wise to consider CBD as a nutritional supplement rather than a medication.

Cannabidiol (CBD), the non-intoxicating compound in cannabis and hemp, continues to draw attention as a potential treatment for disorders and illnesses ranging from epilepsy to cancer. Now a new brain imaging study suggests that a single dose of CBD can reduce symptoms of psychosis by “resetting” activity in three brain areas. If replicable, the study offers the first evidence-based explanation for how CBD works in the brain to counteract psychosis, with results that could help generate new treatments.     Psychosis is not a single condition or disorder, but is rather a symptom of other disorders characterized by detachment from reality. Seeing, hearing or believing things that aren’t real, including hallucinations, is typical of a psychotic episode. While the exact causes of psychosis aren’t known, it’s thought to be triggered by mental illness, trauma, substance abuse and extreme stress. Even lack of sleep can spark an episode. While psychosis is most often associated with schizophrenia, it actually affects a much larger segment of the population. At least 100,000 people a year experience their first onset of psychosis in the U.S., according to the National Institute of Mental Health. This was a small study of 33 participants who were experiencing psychotic symptoms. A smaller group of healthy participants served as a control group. Half the psychosis group was given one 600 mg oral dose of CBD (a dose that was “previously effective in established psychosis” according to the study), the other half received an identical placebo capsule. The control group didn’t receive any drug. Then all of the participants completed a memory task designed to engage three brain areas that have been linked to the onset of psychosis (specifically the striatum, medial temporal cortex, and midbrain) while their brains were examined with an fMRI scanner. The scans showed abnormal activity in the brains of the participants experiencing symptoms, as compared to the healthy control group – that much was expected. But the brains of those who had taken a dose of CBD showed less severe abnormalities than the brains of those who had taken a placebo, suggesting that the compound was “resetting” abnormal activity in the key brain areas. “The results have started unravelling the brain mechanisms of a new drug that works in a completely different way to traditional anti-psychotics,” said the study’s lead author Dr. Sagnik Bhattacharyya from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College, London. The study did have limitations. Aside from being a small study with a methodology unable to account for every factor that might influence the outcome, the researchers also noted that they can’t be sure the results weren’t caused by “the rapid changes in cerebral perfusion that are known to occur with a single dose of psychoactive drugs.” In other words, they may have witnessed a short-term effect that won’t last. Quoting from the study: “It is also unclear whether the effects of CBD will persist after longer-term dosing.” The next step, already underway, is a large-scale human trial to replicate the results and determine if CBD is a viable treatment.  If successful, the drug would be immediately differentiated from other meds on the market—including some that have been around since the 1950s—that produce inconsistent results. Some of the most common meds also have notoriously severe side effects, including muscle tremors and overpowering sedation. “There is an urgent need for a safe treatment for young people at risk of psychosis,” added Dr. Bhattacharyya. “One of the main advantages of cannabidiol is that it is safe and seems to be very well tolerated, making it in some ways an ideal treatment.” The study represents another move forward for CBD as a treatment for brain-based disorders. Earlier this year, the US FDA approved the first drug comprised of CBD to treat severe forms of epilepsy. While CBD derived from cannabis is a Schedule 1 controlled substance under federal law in the US, hemp-derived CBD is more widely accessible, though its legality in terms of federal law is still murky at best.  Members of this research team conducted an earlier study showing that CBD seems to counterbalance the effects of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive compound in marijuana that gets users high. THC has been linked to the onset of psychosis in some users and appears to mimic aspects of psychosis in the brain. If CBD turns out to be an effective anti-psychotic, these findings will highlight yet another striking paradox of a plant that science is only now really beginning to understand.
